Evonne: Interactive Proof Visualization for Description Logics (System Description)

چکیده
Abstract Explanations for description logic (DL) entailments provide important support the maintenance of large ontologies. The “justifications” usually employed this purpose in ontology editors pinpoint parts responsible a given entailment. Proofs make intermediate reasoning steps explicit, and thus explain how consequence can actually be derived. We present an interactive system exploring proofs, called Evonne , which visualizes proofs consequences ontologies written expressive DLs. describe methods used computing those together with feature signature-based proof condensation . Moreover, we evaluate quality generated using real

Much of the activity in a digital library revolves around collecting, organizing and publishing knowledge about the resources of the library, in the form of metadata records. In order to document such activity, digital librarians need to express knowledge about the metadata records they produce. This knowledge, which we call documentation knowledge, may express e.g., provenance, trustability, o...

Description logics (DLs) [6, 8, 21] are a family of logic-based knowledge representation formalisms designed to represent and reason about the knowledge of an application domain in a structured and well-understood way. The basic notions in DLs are concepts (unary predicates) and roles (binary relations), and a specific DL is mainly characterised by the constructors it provides to form complex c...

Description Logics (DL) [5] are a very promising research area in Knowledge Representation (KR) with applications in databases (DBs). The main effort of the research in DL is in providing both theories and systems for expressing structured knowledge and for accessing and reasoning with it in a principled way. Recently, basic progress has been made by establishing the theoretical foundations for...
